Replacement Regulator

I received the replacement regulator for the Rutland wind generator last week and installed it a few days ago. The attached photo shows the new setup. The top 3 components, the ammeter, Arrid regulator, and manual switch are dedicated to the two solar panels. The Marlec HRDX regulator at the bottom is dedicated to the Rutland 913 wind generator. Both system are now working well.

We are also putting together a "grab bag" which so far contains a 121 MHz EPIRB (to be replaced with a 406 MHz EPIRB soon), a modest first aid kit, and a signaling mirror.

  1. Don't forget a pair of reading glasses in your grab bag

  2. Thanks for that thought. We had a pair of reading glasses packed into the life raft, which already contains a knife, flares, some fishing gear, etc. The grab bag still has room for more glasses, a GPS, a probably a hand-held VHF radio. Of course the more time we have the more opportunity we will have to load water, food, etc and maybe even blow up and launch the Zodiac inflatable.
