Brenda paid a short visit to the Hilton Hawaiian Village hotel yesterday and took these photos. Many of the big hotels in Waikiki are amazingly accessible to the public, both on the street and beach sides. The Alakai Hotel provides public access to their large terrace overlooking the Ala Wai Harbor. I must contrast this with the Hayman Island resort which confronted visiting yachties with threatening signs along the lines of Keep Out, Trespassers Will Be Prosecuted.
This blog began in late 2006 with the planning and preparation for a circumnavigation of the world in my 39-foot sail boat Pachuca. It then covered a successful 5-year circumnavigation that ended in April 2013. The blog now covers life with Pachuca back home in Australia.
