This blog began in late 2006 with the planning and preparation for a circumnavigation of the world in my 39-foot sail boat Pachuca. It then covered a successful 5-year circumnavigation that ended in April 2013. The blog now covers life with Pachuca back home in Australia.

Big Yacht in Victoria
There is a hull under the 5-spreader mast shown in the first photo. If you enlarge the photo you'll see Pachuca's mast just to the right, with the radar dome, which does not even reach the second set of spreaders.
Janice of Wyoming is a 130-ft sail boat berthed at D Jetty around the corner from Pachuca. Have a close look at the up-shot of the mast and you'll see a radar scanner under each of the lower domes. A boat like that is so far out of my reality that I get a bigger thrill by looking at the Cheoy Lee ketch across from Pachuca (in the background). A pair of traditional gaff rigged boats also caught my eye.
