This blog began in late 2006 with the planning and preparation for a circumnavigation of the world in my 39-foot sail boat Pachuca. It then covered a successful 5-year circumnavigation that ended in April 2013. The blog now covers life with Pachuca back home in Australia.

Aquatic Display
On Saturday we visited the Marine Science Center at Fort Worden.
The marine exhibits building on the jetty is filled with tanks that contained sea life found in these waters. We were allowed to stroke the various creatures with one finger. Some surfaces were hard and spiny and a few were incredibly soft.
We made a quick visit to the other building that focuses on the sea mammals, sea birds, and geology of the area.
I've been told that this is a true grass roots organization that had its origins many years ago when two ordinary mothers could not answer simple questions from their children about what they saw.
You can get a lot more out of these photos by enlarging them (with a click of the left mouse button).
