This blog began in late 2006 with the planning and preparation for a circumnavigation of the world in my 39-foot sail boat Pachuca. It then covered a successful 5-year circumnavigation that ended in April 2013. The blog now covers life with Pachuca back home in Australia.

Launch Day: Today

Hi,

today the crew have left for their trip, Hurrah !

They went (under motor) to Woodman Point.

Earlier in the afternoon, a repaired jib was hoisted with considerable effort. Other final preparations, such as filling a water tank, were also completed.

While onboard, I was shown many of the farewell cards and gifts friends and well-wishers had left, it was very touching. Here is a photo showing Arnold learning the ropes. He's a very fast learner ! As information is sent to me, such as Pachuca's location, it will be posted on this blog.
As I left the jetty I couldn't help feeing a little envious, GOOD LUCK Pachuca !

Second try. The first time it didn't work...just wanted to say that I've found the blog very interesting and will enjoy following the trip - and also, better late than never, to wish Brenda Robert and Arnold good luck and a safe journey; I'm finding it hard to believe the journey has actually started, the last week especially flew past so quickly, all the preparations finally at an end - hopefully we'll get lots of information and photos too.
