This blog began in late 2006 with the planning and preparation for a circumnavigation of the world in my 39-foot sail boat Pachuca. It then covered a successful 5-year circumnavigation that ended in April 2013. The blog now covers life with Pachuca back home in Australia.

Second Day at Calita Partida

We decided to spend a second day at Calita Partida. The area is so scenic and interesting that we wanted to spend another day looking around. There was no sign of the chubasco that we had been warned about.

After breakfast we boarded the Zodiac to visit the shore along the northern cove. On the way we stopped by Bob's boat Adios and had a short chat. He was about to leave and visit the very narrow El Cardoncito just around the corner. Brenda and I spent over an hour walking the beach and having a good look at the surrounding nature. Brenda got her first sight of a Willet, a migratory shore bird.

Before lunch we made another trip, this time to the north end of the spit where the fishing camp is sited. The beach was good and we enjoyed snorkeling in the clear, calm, and shallow water.

In the afternoon I shipped the outboard motor, Zodiac, and boarding ladder, ready for an early departure for La Paz, 21 miles away. The night was very calm and peaceful. We played scrabble and the good blocks fell my way. I was able to win my second game to Brenda's four during this visit.
