This blog began in late 2006 with the planning and preparation for a circumnavigation of the world in my 39-foot sail boat Pachuca. It then covered a successful 5-year circumnavigation that ended in April 2013. The blog now covers life with Pachuca back home in Australia.

Berkovich Boat Yard is an amazing place and well worth the visit.  The place is full of all sorts of boats in a variety of conditions with boat parts seemingly everywhere.  It is run by the Berkovich family in a very informal style.  This is sailor country. Yuppies and weekend whimps need not apply.  A modern day Steinbeck would find wonderful material for a book.

I was  told that Berkovich has another large facility nearby full of impounded boats and equipment.
